What does our project process look like?
SCOPE: The first step to any project is to determine the scope. This is where you tell us what you want and we tell you what we heard you say. Why is this important? Clear communication is a critical key to success. We want to ensure we heard you correctly. This often takes a few emails, a couple of phone calls , possibly a site visit and some document review. Our goal is to ask the right questions to help avoid “scope creep”.
AGREEMENT: The agreement is where we clearly articulate the end result and you sign off on that statement. The agreement typically has project scope, timelines with clear milestones, your costs and payment schedule and acceptance criteria. We do not begin any development work without a signed agreement. The complexity of a project contributes to how long it takes to complete it, additionally our workload also affects that timeline. We are clear up front with each client regarding the timeline based on complexity and workload.
SYSTEM FILES: Depending on the scope of the project we will likely have several milestone documentation marks. As we complete and bill a milestone, all documents to that point are owned by you, to ensure in the future you can receive support are not “held hostage” by your consultant. All our agreements state this clearly.
CONTENT: This is the part of the project that takes the largest amount of time. We understand that sometimes there is an urgency for completion, however our focus is on getting the work done right, which saves time in the long run. Rushing through the process can lead to poor results and oversights. The focus is on signal flow and signal quality. Your input during this stage is critical, so we will review often.
FEEDBACK and APPROVAL: Like scope development communication is critical. Throughout the development process we will be asking you for your approval on aspects of content, design and functionality. We like it when we get it right the first time, but sometimes adjustments are needed and doing this during the development ensures a final product you are 100% satisfied with. When you are responsive and provide us with valuable feedback, we find that projects are completed much more quickly.
So the next step is yours, why not contact us today and start working on the scope?
